Lots of information.
Well documented, excellent pictures and shooting tips.
The title is a bit misleading since the majority of the book covers every aspect of the shooting sport and not "instinctive shooting" only. However, the two chapters devoted to the title are worth the price of the book.
As with all Chris Batha's books, they are written well, beautifully illustrated and above all easy to understand. As an NSCA Level 2 instructor I recommend them to my students and invariably get excellent reviews.
I think this is the best overall guide on shotgunning I have read. I have recommended it to several of my friends and everyone agrees that it is really a fabulous reference guide that you can read time and again. Lots of information in a well presented format. Worth every penny!
Chris Batha does it again. Accurate information presented in a clear, readable style. Covers a lot of ground in one book. Useful and interesting information about other forms of bird shooting as well as shotgun sizing and ballistics..
Chris Batha has written an outstanding book that should help any beginning or intermediate shot. I shoot just above 50% at trap, skeet and sporting clays combined. I shoot about 1000 rounds per year for the last 3 years. This book is a great compliment to my shooting instruction and amplify's what my instructors try to tell me about the "instinctive shot" that I must learn to improve. I have a PhD in engineering and this makes it harder for me to trust my subconscious mind in timing the shot. Chris explains not only the physics of the shot (which I had already figured out) but the physiology of the shooter. The balance between the conscious mind and the subconscious is critical to high performance shooting. A great reference book.
